UNLEASHED WITH LOVE
What If It Rains my on Session Day?
You’ve prepped for your dog’s big photography session…collar polished, fur fluffed, treats packed…then the forecast shows rain. But don’t stress! Here at Unleashed With Love, I know that Wisconsin weather has a mind of its own and I’m always ready to work with it! Whether it’s chasing golden hour light, embracing a crisp fall breeze, or adjusting for those surprise Midwest storms, I’ll make sure your session is a success.
As your session day draws near, I’m keeping a watchful eye on the forecast…down to the hour, and sometimes even the minute. I’ll track when the rain might hit, how long it’ll stick around, and whether it’s just a light sprinkle or a full-on downpour.
Unless it’s a total “rainy day nap” kind of day (think 90% chance of rain all day), I usually make the final call about two hours before your session. Let’s be honest, weather forecasts can be as unpredictable as your dog’s reaction to the vacuum. That 60% chance of rain? It could be nothing more than a gentle drizzle. And if the sun decides to peek out at the last minute, it often leaves behind soft clouds and the kind of lighting that’s perfect for your pup’s photos.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate…no worries. That’s exactly why I build rain dates into my calendar, so there’s no stress, no problem. If we need to reschedule, it’s as easy as flipping the page on a doggy calendar. You won’t lose your spot just because the sky decides to throw a tantrum.
So, sit back and trust the process. Rainy days might seem like a curveball, but they can actually bring unique benefits to your session. Think dreamy reflections in puddles, rich, saturated colors, and a cozy, playful vibe that’s all about embracing the moment. Whether the sky’s misty or moody, we’ll turn those drops into pure magic and make your session as unforgettable as your pup.
Rain brings a certain magic to photos. Puddles, reflections, soft mist, it all transforms a familiar scene into something completely enchanting. Whether it’s your dog splashing through a puddle, shaking off the water, or just looking up with that signature head tilt, these moments add so much life to their portrait.
And let’s be real, watching your dog’s quirky reactions to the rain (sniffs, wet paws, and maybe a little protest) is all part of the charm.
Photographers love overcast skies and for good reason. The soft, diffused light on rainy days eliminates harsh shadows, making your dog’s fur, eyes, and expressions pop. It’s like nature’s built-in Instagram filter!
When you look back on these photos in a few years, you won’t remember the rain. You’ll remember the laughter, the love, and the joy of being with your dog. Rainy days often capture the most genuine, heartwarming moments, because it’s not about perfect conditions. It’s about making memories that last a lifetime.
